Men

Oh this blog could go in so many different directions with the title "men"... but since this blog is about gifts I think I will stick with what I know. My Dad and brother came to visit me and Matt in Dallas a few weeks ago and we had a blast! Friday night we went to the Texas Rangers game. They were playing Boston and it was about 105 out! John Hamilton had an amazing game (I bet you are impressed that I even know who that is) and the Rangers won in the 11th inning. So then there was Saturday... what to do when it is 105 outside, your boyfriend had a football draft, and you are in charge of entertaining? I treated my Dad and my Brother to a guided tour of the Cowboys Stadium and I have to admit it was pretty awesome! My Dad has been a Cowboys fan since he was 5 and the team was franchised! We learned so much about the Stadium and saw all the bells and whistles of the new stadium! We got to go down on the field where they took our picture on the 50 yard line- really I am not sure if I have ever seen my Dad so excited! All-in-all it was a great day and I am so glad that I got to take them there!

SMOCK

Have you seen Smock Paper? OMG- literally I die. (sorry- just had a Rachel Zoe moment.) But really it is amazing. The wedding invitations are incredible letterpress on ecofriendly bamboo paper. There are so many elements to the invites that make it unique- rounded corners, printed backs, liners, envelofolds- you can really customize your invite to make it unique to you. I just started to rep the box line and I am equally as impressed. Letterpress lines are incredible- the trouble with them is that there are 1000's and sometimes it is tough to tell them apart. Smock uses so much color and had such a distinct look, and bright colors, that it completely sets it apart from other lines. I also love the boxes by Smock... such a great way to brighten up any office and make something ordinary look extraordinary

I am in trouble. I downloaded the Gilt App to my iphone this week and it dings at 11am when the sale starts. Day #1 and I have a new Marc by Marc Jacobs bag on the way... this could be dangerous... if you don't know about Gilt it is a designer sale website that is incredible. I bought Chilewich table runners last week for 65% off! Most days I am on the road by 11 am so I miss all the good stuff... n o t a n y m o r e :)

Mr. Boddington's Studio

I am about to put my suit on and head to the pool, but if you have reached the end of the internet this weekend and need something to look at check out Mr. Boddington's Studio. This is some of the best paper and wedding invitations that I have seen in awhile! I see A LOT of paper, and I love paper, but it does take a lot of make me feel excited about new paper. I think this line is incredible. If I was a bride I would use this line. If I was having a baby I would use this line. Since I am neither of those I will use this line for Christmas Cards this year- yes it is that awesome that I can say that in August!

Happy Friday

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I feel like my life is starting to slow back down... Matt & I are actually both in Dallas this weekend without a wedding to goto, family visiting, or something major going on- this is the first time since April (nuts huh?!) Tonight we going to take some friends to Hibiscus for dinner for Restaurant Week- and to say thank you for watching Mabry for us while we were out of town this June! I am hoping to lay by the pool tomorrow and just relax! This photo is from the IPhone app Hipstamatic. I HIGHLY recommend it if you haven't already mess around with it...it will provide hours of entertainment! Happy Weekend!

Glowology

This blog is a little continuation from yesterday's blog because I am obsessed. Have you guys seen the line Glowology? It is made my the same company as Noodle & Boo and when it was launched it was launched exclusively for Neiman Marcus but is now available to the public. The lotions and soaps in the line are amazing. Again, like N&B, all natural products so it is great for women with sensitive skin! I use the Body Butter and Honey Body Wash and I am totally addicted! Stores are picking this line up left and right so expect to see this in your favorite stores in the months to come!

Noodle & Boo

Ok, this is for all my mamas out there! Noodle & Boo is a line that we picked up in June and it is ah-maz-ing. Noodle & Boo works with specialists in natural and holistic skin care so that you know everything in line is safe for your babies skin (especially babies with sensitive skin!) It smells just like a baby and the price point is awesome (retail for the lotion is $14) This line is LOVED by boat loads of celebs and is carried at some of the finest retailers across the country (think Bergdorfs and Neimans). If you need a gift for a shower this would make an incredibly thoughtful gift and the mom-to-be will love it!

One Year Anniversary

Has this year gone by quick or what?! I love blogging! Sometimes I get a little embarrassed when I meet people who say they read my blog (oh God have they already judged me?!) but really it has been so positive and fun! I am going to get some loot together from some manufacturer's this week and start a giveaway next week! (My official 1 year is August 28th) I have wanted to do giveaways for awhile but just haven't gotten it together to do it! My "gift closet" has needed to be emptied for awhile so I am so so excited! I hope that I have more exciting things to share with everyone this year and some more great gifts to share!

ACE

Life has been nuts lately... like not enough hours in the day nuts... I made it back from Palm Springs on Monday and all I have to say is that I want to go back. like now. like right now. The Ace Hotel was beyond incredible. It was hip but relaxed. Fun but not crazy. Hot but not... ok it was the desert in August so it was very hot. All in all I can not say enough good things about our experience there, granted with my friends we probably could have been anywhere and we would have had a great time! Our first day we got there and hit the pool! The Ace had awesome servers and we bonded instantly (which came in handy since we were there for 4 days!) We made only a few ventures out because The Ace was so awesome there was really no reason to leave! The rest of our time was spent catching up, an afternoon at the spa (so needed!), and lots of pool time and eating!

Headed to LA

Tomorrow morning I am meeting 3 of my dearest friends in LA and then we are driving to Palm Springs for the weekend. I am so excited! All 4 of us met in Atlanta and now 2 friends live in NYC and one in LA- so it will be wonderful to spend time together! We had a girls trip in NYC 2 years ago and it was packed with shopping, dancing, eating, and lots of wine! I am almost embarrassed to admit this but it will be my first time in LA... and is it bad that I am sad I won't get a chance to see La Lohan?! (Lindsay Lohan for all of you non-Perez readers) We land tomorrow morning and are headed on a 2 hours drive from LA to Palm Springs where we will spend the next 3 days catching up, hitting the pool, shopping, and lots of eating, drinking and laughing! This is a much needed Vacation from my crazy hectic schedule of the past 2 months (sorry for the lack of posting! I can't get my brain to think blog when work goes nuts like it has!) The picture of our last successful trip in NYC- obviously we have no fun together :) I am sure there will be plenty of tweetpics this weekend! See you guys next week!
